Horror Movies

Very Scary.

I am a fairly large fan of horror movies, which never seem to frighten me. The year of 2007 has already started off with new knowledge of promising scary movies, like the painfully funny Black Christmas, a movie about a yellow man with a liver problem killing hot sorority girls like Lacey Chabert and Michelle Trachtenberg. The movie is a remake of a decent movie of the same name from 1974, and this 2006 version features better looking actresses. I have already seen this movie and I truly recommend it for fans of horror movies. Seriously, check out this trailer:

Another awesome movie that I plan to see upon it’s release date of March 23rd, is a movie from the writer and director of Saw, James Wan. This movie, titled Dead Silence, is a heartwarming story of a ventriloquist that is murdered after having her tongue ironically and painfully removed. Now she has to haunt the city and gruesomely detach families’ cherished mouth muscles, and then violently kill them. In the end, she learns the truth about herself- she is a vengeful psychopath on a mission to destroy a town. This movie really stands out because of the great atmosphere and lighting present in the trailer, and the fact that I hate talking puppets. Hopefully this movie will not disappoint:

Another movie that I wholeheartedly want to push into your brain is a quasi-Western zombie flick, which occurs about 85 years ago in the year 1922. An outbreak of zombies has started to plague the world and the only thing left to do is to kill every undead creature in the city. Yes, as if there weren’t enough zombie movies that are tongue-in-cheek funny, I have now stumbled across a movie at Blockbuster called The Quick and the Undead. I haven’t been able to watch it yet, but I assure you, it looks funny and interesting enough to warrant a quick view. Don’t let the trailer fool you, this movie will probably be very “not scary”:

The final movie that I will endorse is probably one of the better choices on this list. I am honestly in a deadlock with myself as to whether Dead Silence or this crazy New Zealand B-movie called Black Sheep will be my favorite. Since Dead Silence isn’t out yet and Black Sheep is an indie film (which may or may not come to the US in March), I have been hard-pressed in my efforts to compare the two horror flicks. The basic premise of the movie is as follows: Genetic engineers have created deranged berserker sheep that have a bloody desire to attack a small New Zealand town. This movie has a low budget but great ideas, and the trailer shows off the ridiculously fantastic costumes and monsters from the movie. I can’t wait:
